About this artwork
Original oil painting on canvas. Spark explores the fragility of what we try to keep alive when everything around seems to go dark. A small flame is sheltered by a girl's hands and becomes a symbol: the part of us that refuses to disappear.
The work also grew out of my resonance with Charles Bukowski's poem "Spark".
