About Astrid Moreno

I am Karen Astrid Moreno Palacios — Astrid Moreno in my work —, a Salvadoran painter based in San Salvador, El Salvador. I work mainly in oil and mixed media, exploring texture, light and color as languages to transform spaces and emotions.

Each artwork is born from observation and experimentation in the studio. I want a painting not just to decorate but to accompany: whoever lives with it should find something new in it every day. My works travel to collectors in El Salvador and abroad, with secure worldwide shipping.

Career

Creative process

I begin with sketches and color studies. Then I prepare the canvas, build the work in layers and let the oil's drying times set the pace. Finally, each piece receives a protective varnish that ensures its durability for decades.
